Large brokerages would charge fees for providing Real Time Quoutes earlier, but it is a standard feature now. Real Time Quote is very important for large traders, who track and trade with high volumes as well as on small price momentums. In a fast moving market, a delayed quote is not of much use. Some brokerages show price quotes which are not real time but come with a delay, known as delayed quotes.
