Stock List Deletion

Updated on March 12, 2023

Stock List Deletion refers to delisting or removal of a security issue from a stock exchange. After listing, stocks of a company are traded on a stock exchange and are freely transacted by buyers and sellers. Deletion or Delisting is a process in which a stock is removed or delisted as a tradable security from the exchange. The delisting or removal of security can be due to declaration of bankruptcy, merger of its business, closure of operations, flouting of listing norms or similar other reasons as per rules and regulations. Stock List deletion or Delisting can be voluntary or involuntary and investors are notified well in advance with the reason, date of deletion and subsequent action to be followed.
