Add On Card

Updated on October 4, 2023

An add-on card is like a duplicate of your primary credit or debit card. If you have a credit or debit card, you can request an add-on card for someone in your family, like your spouse, children, or parents. This additional card is connected to your main card account but can be given to the person you choose. They can use it to make purchases, just like your main card, but the spending limit and responsibility for payment still belong to you, the primary cardholder. It’s a convenient way to let your family members have their own card for expenses while keeping control over the overall spending.

What is the typical fee of add-on cards?

The cost associated with obtaining an add-on card varies, usually ranging from Rs. 125 to Rs. 1,000. This fee is influenced by factors such as the specific type of card you have and the benefits it offers. By paying this fee, the authorized user of the add-on card gains access to the same privileges and benefits as the primary cardholder, which could include discounts, rewards, and convenient payment options.
However, some banks may also offer add-on cards for free of charge depending on their policies and guidelines or any promotional offer carried out for a brief period for their specific customers.
