Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex ended flat on July 16 after a rangebound trading session.
Nifty recovered from an intraday low of 25,121 to close above the 25,200 mark, supported by select buying.
Gains in auto, financials, IT, and realty stocks helped offset early losses.
Sector-wise, the metal index declined 0.6%, while the pharma index was down 0.3%.
On the positive side, realty, auto, FMCG, IT, PSU Bank, and media indices gained between 0.5% to 1.8%.
