Indian equity markets ended lower, erasing some of the previous session’s gains, with the Nifty closing below the 24,700 mark.
The session began on a flat note but turned negative following recent statements from the US President, dragging the Nifty intraday below 24,600.
Auto stocks provided some support, helping trim losses toward the close.
On the sectoral front, the Nifty Auto index was the sole gainer, up 0.4%.
In contrast, key sectors like Banking, IT, Oil & Gas, FMCG, and Pharma ended lower, each declining by around 0.5%.
